So who are we? Well, we are a lot of things. We are parents to two amazing kiddos. We are high school sweethearts and have been together for 20+ years (yes, we are showing our age just a tad here), and together we have found a love for the art of photography and videography. ​You will only get Nicole and Shawn together if you are a wedding client. Otherwise Nicole is your girl! She is the main part of Oak and Ivy and has been a photographer for 13+ years. She is the one who will be with you for all other sessions.

Nicole:

 Nicole has a bachelors in Psychology and uses that knowledge a lot when interacting with clients. If anyone has met Nicole, they know she has a gift for making them feel seen and loved. Her journey with photography started after she graduated from college and was gifted her first real camera as her gradation gift. But her love of documenting started at a very young age, her parents went through so many disposable cameras! The art of storytelling is such a fun thing to show through images. Seeing things you didn't even know you needed documented is kinda her jam. Nicole loves a good caramel latte, reading romatasy, and making sessions as fun as possible! One of the best parts of this job, is getting to see families grow over the years. She loves being invited into your lives! She wants to photograph that chaotic toddler phase AND the grimy tween phase! Give her all your chaos and let her show you how magical it really is!

Shawn: ​

Shawn has a degree in media production/ graphic design and music production. He started his journey by making music videos for not only his band (yes he plays guitar), but for other local bands in the Madison area. He fell in love with making videos and started taking ones of his kids and then decided to join Nicole for weddings. He tells clients that his videos are like a music video of the day and I can't help but think back to where he started and think that is the perfect way to describe the magic he makes. Shawn only comes with for weddings. Shawn loves playing guitar, woodworking, and learning!​
